All my leather making dreams came true this past week in a MAJOR way and we have Leather Works Minnesota to thank for it. Needless to say, our key fob workshop was an absolute blast. The Wind & Willow Home studio was transformed into leather paradise by our fearless instructor, Nathan O’Malley, when he showed up with every single leather tool one could ever hope for. (And those tools are no joke, let me tell you.)

While we picked out our leather pieces (this was a tough decision, people. How do you choose between a) a buttery tan color, b) a rich coffee brown, or c) classic black? HOW?), Nathan talked us through the process, step-by-step. We also learned more about leather making in general as well as the history of Leather Works Minnesota (local makers – yay!) And then we were on our way! We punched holes, we engraved, we sewed, and in the end, each one of us had made the most gorgeous leather key fobs.

As always, a huge thank you to everyone who came and participated in the workshop. I loved learning this skill with you and most of all, I loved seeing all the different ways you made your key fob YOURS. A huge thank you also goes out to Nathan and Leather Works Minnesota for being so absolutely helpful in sharing this wonderful skill with us.

I could keep gushing, but I’ll just let the photos speak for themselves:

If you missed this workshop, but want to get some hands-on maker fun into your life, be sure to sign up for our next workshop: garden floral arranging with the lovely Ann Nelson! If you’re into flowers (and who isn’t?) or just general prettiness, you won’t want to miss it!
